Everything just happened so fast. It was like Angelina was standing in a blizzard since her vision had gone pure white. It didn't take her long to figure out what had happened, though. Another Master, of course, was sticking his nose where it didn't belong. It was probably just a cocky young colt who thought it was a great idea to make a fool of the female master and satisfy his own need to act out... when in reality he was just inching for a bruising and possibly a few broken bones starting with his skull. But, with a closer look, Angie took note of how the gruella stud looked somewhat older than she. Great, she was dealing with an immature older stallion rather than one who was too young to understand their mistakes. Her ears flattened against her head and she pawed the ground angrily.
Arrgh! Angelina knew this would happen. The light fae knew that the moment she put claim to one of these horses, which was a complete surprise to her mind you, that one of these morons would pull something. They were trying to piss her off! Well, damn, it was working. This girl had enough of those fox faced idiots getting as close as they were and this guy was getting twice as close. That was the last straw. A snarl, one that sounded as if it came from a demon more than a mare, escaped from between her tightly pressed lips. Her body lunged forward, stopped, and then quickly hopped into the ring. These two were under her watch now and she wouldn't forgive herself if anyone touched a single hair on either of their heads.
Angelina bowed her head so low to the ground that she could almost kiss it and managed a cold glare at the rat that dared to go near her new claim. She wasn't afraid of a good fight. In fact, she welcomed it! That scar that graced her face was proof enough of that. Her shoulders then hunched up as her anger began to boil over. She stalked her prey slowly as she closed the space between them. Oh when she got close enough, boy was she going to murder him!
"Get out of the pen now." She roared, not caring about the scene she was making, "Final chance. Move it or else."
Ooc;; I couldn't pass up replying to that so sorry about posting out of order... if there was one. o.o''

Oreo watched Caelum as she tilted her head, and then he looked around, finding his friend and then turned his attention back to her. She nodded softly after his words, before responding. "Well . . . as long as you are as careful as you can be . . ." Came her amendment, and he dipped his head a bit, smiling in a friendly way. ”I try to do the best I can under the ci-circumstances.” He said, stumbling a bit over the longer word at the end, unsure of pronunciation. She looked towards the crowds, and he envied how the mare ignored the stares and leers from the masters. The stallion lowered his head slightly, seeing her hoof shift in the ground before she took some steps back from the fence when a master stopped to look her over. Reading the stud’s lips, Oreo was disgusted to see what they said, and his ears slanted back ever so slightly as the male tensed, ready to defend his new-found friend, no matter how new she was. The gentle giant was by no means a fighter, but he didn’t like standing by and watching as those he considered his friends were hurt and/or insulted. Though seeing the glare Cael shot at their retreating forms, ears pinned, teeth faintly bared, made him feel better. He knew without a doubt that she could in fact take care of herself, and this made him glad, for at least she would survive. "It's kind of crazy . . . being stuck here. I made one bad choice, and now I've been sentenced to slavery . . . " He read, and saw that she looked towards the horizon before shaking her head. He dipped his head, wishing to offer some words of comfort, sympathy, anything, but not knowing where to begin.
Ori looked around in between her remarks, and caught sight of a white mare coming towards them. She seemed to look both him and his fae companion over, before appearing to move on. But then Cae spoke, and the master mare paused, and then moved towards them. "Come." He read, "Come, and unless you want to stay and remain stuck. Bring your friend if you wish." It wasn’t her words that sent him skittering back against the fence behind him, pinning his ears back, but the way she appeared to growl, and seemed reluctant to even take them. This made him wary, for if the master mare had no real use for them then she would be more likely to abandon them and/or discard them like last week’s trash. The Gypsy Vanner stallion snorted, muscles tensing as he realized, not for the first time, he had nowhere to go.
Feeling the ground shift and shudder faintly with the feeling of hooves hitting the ground at a fast pace, Oreo lifted his head, seeing another master come barreling towards them, rising over the barrier that separated slaves from master, and went straight to Caelum. He seemed to know her, care for her, as he showed his affection in the very way he moved, pulling her into a hug of sorts. The stallion remained tensed however, for this stallion no doubt wished to keep the pretty dark-coated mare at his side, as it should be, but the white mare had claimed the both of them, which meant trouble. He hung back, keeping the strong, older stallion between him and the scarred mare. In all honesty, he didn’t want anything to do with either master, for fear of their personalities and motives, but if he were to choose, just from first impressions, he would choose the grulla stallion, if he would be so kind as to claim him. Again, however, he highly doubted anyone would want him, a deaf, useless stallion too innocent for his own good. At least the mare beside him would be safe, for he had no doubt the stallion would fight for her.
Oreo turned his attention to watch for the reaction of the white coated master mare, and saw her lips tightly pressed, before her body lunged forward, crossing over into the pen without a second glance. He shrank back, ears pinned further, muscles quivering, but held his ground. If Cael could be brave in the face of leering stallions then so too could he be brave in the face of his possible new master. The fae lowered her head so close to the ground her muzzle nearly brushed it, and her shoulders hunched, hinting very strongly to the anger within her. "Get out of the pen now." He read, "Final chance. Move it or else." And the words made him quiver within, but resolve tightened his innocent expression to one of calm determination, a seemingly new stallion surfacing, one that was composed, ready for anything, and in a way, he was. Soft fur brushed against his legs before a familiar presence took its place upon his back, out of the way of any hooves that would fly. His companion, Amoretti, nuzzled the back of his neck, and shot a fiery glare at the white mare, daring her to try to touch her friend.

Caelum smiled faintly at the other slave, nodding softly to his friendly smile, listening to him speak, that he’ll do the best under the circumstances, though she couldn’t help the slight smile as he tripped over the larger word, nodding once to show that she both understood and that he had gotten it right. “I’m sure your . . . friend,” Her gaze drifted ever so faintly to the dog, “is likely to have your back as well, so I’ll try not to fret about what kind of issues you might get yourself into. Hopefully it won’t be something we’ll have to worry about though. Surely there must be some sort of decent master in this place.” She said, her voice soft, but taking more of an effort to annunciate so that he’ll be able to read her lips better. She looked back towards the crowd, glancing at him slightly before a few stallions had stopped in front of her. She kept her cool till they walked away, but she noticed her new friend’s ears slanted back, and body tense, and she smiled softly, trotting towards him and lightly touching her muzzle to his neck, before pulling away so he’d be able to read the words on her muzzle, “I thank you for your concern over my welfare, sweet Oreo, but please, don’t get hurt on my account for trying to stick up for me. They’re just saying words to see what kind of responses they’ll get. Give the wrong one, and they leave you alone.” She said lightly, hoping to ensure him she’d be alright. She watched as he dipped his head, his only response to her comment about her choice in life, sighing at the memory of her dear green eyed stallion. Not nocte of course, but also not his replacement. There was very little ways she could possible begin to describe the mouse-clad stallion with hair as black as ebony.
Of course it seems that her words weren’t the only ones noticed by the stallion, as a master turned, looking towards them, before speaking out in a loud growl, staking a claim. Come. Come, unless you want to stay and remain stuck. Bring your friend if you wish. Caelum hesitated at the tone, glancing at Oreo for his opinion, nervous about the mare’s behavior, the way she commanded. There seemed nearly no way to tell what kind of situation this would turn into, no clue to the type of master. But then, a voice shouted higher then hers, a voice that froze her,e yes snapping open wide at the familiar call, replacing the sound with laughter, playful teasing comments, and felt herself go slack-kneed. Calico? Was he here? No, surely not. It was her mind playing tricks on her, her way of cooping with the fear of being stuck with some master she knew little of. It was the way that she was cooping, surely. And then he saw the Andalusian, his body leaping high over the fence. She remained frozen, muzzle opening in an awed displace as he walked towards her, his muzzle reaching out, his breath pillowing against her forehead, as he moved her mane from her eyes, her brown meeting his green until he suddenly was tugging her close, his neck against hers, head over her back, as if hugging her and instantly she melted into him, easily welcoming his affection, returning it as she buried her face in his mane, breathing in his scent and letting it fold around her like a protective blanket that felt more comfortable then anything else had since they’d been parted. “Calico” Her breath fanned his neck, shifting his thick mane slightly as she kept her face hidden to hide the tears in the corner of her eyes.
Her head lifted at the sound of pawing hooves, looking up and flinching closer to Calico at the sight of the gray mare, ears pinned angrily, and then she snarled, lunging forward, before jumping into the ring as well, head bowed low, ready for a fight, Get out of the pen now. Final chance. Move it or else. Caelum felt her heart go cold, her blood run like ice through her viens, “No! Please, don’t hurt him!” Her voice came out in a desperate squeak, eyes wide at the thought of someone hurting her Calico, someone daring to harm him, to make her lose him all over again. She pressed herself close to Calico’s side, shifting faintly to half hide against him, even as she felt the leadess in her desperate to raise her head, to claim the stallion as hers, and she as his. Desperate to make it show that she wasn’t going to back down, or be removed from his side. Even if he went down in these muddy grounds, she’d lay by his side, coiled up against him until she too would follow into the light after him. She lost him once, twice even, and finally found him again, “Leave him be!” her voice held a hint of an edge, just enough to make it evident she had no plans to leave his side any time soon, fitting perfectly against him, her cheek against his neck using him as an anchor of sorts, her eyes on the gray mare, her brown eyes begging for understanding, “I won’t . . . can’t lose him again. because she loved him to much to survive a second good bye. “Please, let’s not fight over this, at least discuss it like adults. Please.”
But this is still the place that we all call home |

Calico if i could, i would feed your dreams and starve your fears[/center] Arrogance ran high among the masters; they believed that everything that others did was because of him. That if it rained one day, the sky was jealous of their pristine coat and had to ruin it. That if a slave was stolen, the offending master did it out of spite. In some cases, this was true. Their feelings were justified. In others, they were horribly wrong and in need of a humbling... something that was certain to happen, because masters felt it was their life duty to show other masters that they're better and everyone else is worthless. The thing about Calico, however, is that he simply didn't care. Didn't want to. He looked at slaves with pity and remorse; he took them in to give them a shelter and a life where they weren't considered slaves. He could fraternize with the masters, but he didn't truly consider them his friends. There was too much competition involved for that. In a way, he thought he was better than other masters... and he justified why in his own mind. He didn't abuse others, didn't belittle them. He was the kind of master slaves didn't believe existed, and maybe he didn't. Maybe he was only feeding his own ego. But other masters, masters like this grey mare, had a way of rubbing him wrong... and when Caelum was involved, all bets were off on whether or not he'd be the romantic nice guy.
His world was dimmed to everyone except for Caelum. He had forgotten the vanner cob that stood in the field; the master mare who's authority he had undermined... the stares of other masters that were trying to figure out why one of their kind was in the pen with the slaves, hugging one.
"Caela." He whispered in her ear, careful so that only she could hear; unaware that the cob could be reading his lips, that the cob was deaf at all. "I'd move heaven and hell for you. No matter what happens, we will be together... even if I have to slip you away in the night. Anything for you." He turned from Cael then, walking toward the Gyspy and offering a deep, humbling bow, so deep that his forelock touched the mud. When he rose from it, his emerald eyes scanned the cob, the smile on his face suggesting the depths of his being. "Any friend of Cael is a friend of mine. You and I, consider us equals. Thank you, for protecting her. I'm in your debt."
The next thing he knew, his world was shattered, and everything beyond Cael and the cob came into focus. The master mare was leaping the fence, splashing mud on his slate colored hide. His lips curled in distaste as he looked himself over, realizing that the mud now ran up his legs, his sides, and now his forelock as well. He looked like another slave abandoned in the pens. He ignored this, however, when the mare's words reached his ears... and he couldn't suppress his reaction. His soft chuckle broke into the tensity of the air, so inappropriate but he couldn't help it. 'What are you pretending to be, a wolf?' He thought, his eyes gleaming with his amusement. His ears flicked forward, surveying the mare in silence for a moment. "I assure you, I have no desire to fight. I would lose sleep at the thought of striking a female." He moved forward, putting himself between the two slaves and the master, presenting his side for any strike she would like to throw. "By all means, kick me if it would soothe you. I won't retaliate. But I also cannot let you take Caelum from me again. Harm her, physically or mentally, and I wouldn't be able to hold myself back... nor would I lose sleep for my actions. That said, I believe we could come to a solution, if we talked this out reasonably." He bowed to her then, smiling with both his lips and his eyes. How could one not be overjoyed when they'd been reunited with their love? "Forgive me for any rudeness I've procured. My name is Calico, and this lady that you've shown an interest in possessing is my mate, Caelum. I do not know her friends name, but any friend of Cael's is a friend of mine."[/blockquote][/blockquote][/justify]

[atrb=width,400,true][atrb=border,0,true][bg=222629] All of this was tiring. No wonder she hated others so much. Why she would much rather be alone. Why she would rather be hated than loved and why she was going to remain all on her own for the rest of her days. Every single creature out there was spiteful or phony or loved themselves far too much to ever consider another. Then to have all this drama? Or any drama at all? It was certainly way too much for any one soul to handle.
Angie almost choked when she heard his "oh I don't hit a girl" speech. There was just too much temptation to just strangle him right then and there. HOW. FREAKING. DARE. HE. This mare could hold her own against any stallion any day and this snot-nosed moron wouldn't even know what hit him! And what was with the way his eyes were gleaming? What? Did he think this was just another game? Her own cold, blue eyes smashed into a vicious glare. If only looks could kill. Then he bowed. Great, he was a manipulative conman too. Sliding in an insult and then trying to play her as if a female didn't know any better? It was going to take at least thirty, highly fatal whacks to the head for her not to be able to tell that this horse was trying to play her.
Then the dark girl was begging her not to fight with the idiot. In a moment of hesitation, Angelina raised her head slowly to listen to what everyone had to say. It was about time to get the story straight. So let's see... inverted girl over here was madly in love with the twerp over there and patches, along with his pet, was in lala land and magically got pumped up now knowing he wasn't alone. Oh and she almost forget that they were all taking this as if everything was okay. Were they all nuts?? Heck, if she were any other master, Angelina would have kicked the stallion to the curb and forced the two slaves to go with her. Actually, if she were any other master, she would've killed all of them without a second thought, probably laughing and snickering the whole way. But nooo! There was no way she would try to hurt them, right? So now she had two slaves ganging up on her, for what? Angie didn't even like others! She would've happily walked past them without a second thought. She would have happily left them here to die or worse, end up with a rotten master that would work them. All of them were an ungrateful bunch to be sure.
But, I mean, hey! If there was another master doing some kinky stuff with a slave, which was completely unheard of mind you unless it was rape or something, then it was obvious that they should all go straight for him! For all Angelina knew, this rat was going to leave darkie the moment he found someone better. What other reason could there be that he would be with this enslaved fae other than to bide his time? He was no doubt some douche just using her, but whatever! Miss Juliet, who falling for Romeo over there, was a lair anyway and Angie hated liars the most. Making just one mistake? HAH! No wonder she was a slave in this sort of situation. She must have been making tons of mistakes all of her life and those mistakes were only going to continue. Angie was going to give her a way out, but no longer. There was only so much she could take.
"Have them! Take them! Run them into the ground for all I care!" She snarled, showing her teeth at the male, "But if you get in my way again, pray to god that I don't separate your head from the rest of your body."
This was just turning into a wonderful day. Not only had she been made a fool by this... this... thing, but now she was showing every master within a mile radius that she was easy. Damn it. Angelina turned with a flick of her tail and a scowl plastered, perhaps even permanently, on her soft face. She quickly and gracefully hopped over the fencing, making sure to kick the post with as much force as possible when she landed. Angie hover there for a moment before moving forward, not bothering to look back. At the last possible second, she paused and practically hissed her name.
"Angelina."
Calico and Caelum? Such stupid names!

Oreo saw the faint smile Caelum sent him, and he couldn’t help but smile in return. If anything he was more like an eager puppy, happy to see others genuinely happy, and when he made others happy, it was even better. Seeing the slight smile when he tripped over a particularly large word, he didn’t mind, for it was not the smile he usually saw, one of scorn and laughter. And when she nodded once to show she understood him, and that he had gotten it right, the stag brightened and made sure to remember that for later. “I’m sure your . . . friend,” He read, “is likely to have your back as well, so I’ll try not to fret about what kind of issues you might get yourself into. Hopefully it won’t be something we’ll have to worry about though. Surely there must be some sort of decent master in this place.” And the stud nodded, eyes warming. ”Amoretti’s always had my back. And I’m sure that we’ll be okay.” He said with a confidence the deaf stallion didn’t feel. But he had found a new friend, and his old friend was at his side once more, so who would blame him if he was hiding beneath his figurative comfort blanket? His shield of sorts? The cob was happy that she had taken time to annunciate her words, just for him, and that fact was another little kernel of brightness he eagerly stowed away. No one but Amoretti had done that for him before, and he was happy to lengthen that list by one. Ori was impressed at how Cael kept her cool until the masters walked away, and then she seemed to notice his stance, smiling softly before trotting towards him, touching her muzzle lightly to his neck. She pulled away, but only to speak, “I thank you for your concern over my welfare, sweet Oreo, but please, don’t get hurt on my account for trying to stick up for me. They’re just saying words to see what kind of responses they’ll get. Give the wrong one, and they leave you alone.” Intelligence and knowing, rare to be shown in the innocent Vanner’s gaze shone there then, and he dipped his head slowly, gaze never leaving hers. ”Forgive me, it’s a habit. I don’t like seeing my friends get hurt or threatened.” Oreo said with a slight bow of his head. But right then the master mare saw them, came over, and Oreo saw out of the corner of his eye how Cael looked to him, as if for his opinion, and he looked over at her, his fear widened eyes showing just what he thought of her. He didn’t have to hear her to be afraid. But then another stallion entered their little gathering, the one who seemed to know who his friend was, and seemed to care deeply for her. Oreo, seeing how she returned his affections, instantly relaxed, at least, on the topic of whether or not Cael was safe with the grulla stallion. The dark coated fae pressed closer to the new stallion’s side, and Oreo kept out of the way, his head lowering slightly with a mixture of sadness and happiness. The happiness was overpowered by the sadness and fear, but he was happy, because he knew that the stallion would make sure his mare was okay, and they would be happy. They would leave him, of that he was sure, but the Gypsy didn’t see anything wrong with that, it was only natural, and as far as the innocent stallion knew, Cael had no obligation to him. Besides, he had Amoretti.
The stallion seemed to forget everything about him for Caelum. Oreo watched for a moment, and then turned away, embarrassed to watch the show of affection, which was to him something only between the two of them, private, special. And he didn’t want to intrude upon their happiness. But then the faint feeling of hooves upon the ground had him turning his head to watch the same stallion approach him, and offer a deep, humble boy that showed not only did he care for Cael, he had manners, and not only that, he wasn’t like the other masters. When he rose from his bow, his emerald gaze scanned him, but didn’t make him feel violated, or diminutive, no, is gaze showed the surprisingly perceptive, when it came to these things, stallion the true depth of his being. "Any friend of Cael is a friend of mine. You and I, consider us equals. Thank you, for protecting her. I'm in your debt." His words caused the Vanner stag to smile slightly, gaze warm with friendliness. He dipped his head low, humbled by such respect from a master of all things. ”It would not be right for me to, kind master. And there is no debt; I only did what I thought right in return for the friendship she has given me.” He said, lifting his head, only to see the master mare enter the pen, splashing them all with mud, especially the slate coated stallion. Ori saw that his lips curled in distaste before his eyes gleamed with amusement, most likely from something the master mare had said that he hadn’t seen. Or perhaps it was her growled words, and from that he had no idea where amusement might be found, but either way, as long as he could find a way out of being claimed by the mare, he didn’t care in the least. The stallion moved forward, stepping between he and Caelum, and the master mare, presenting his side to the scarred mare. Oreo lifted his head higher to watch the mare, read her lips to find what was going on. When the stallion before him bowed to the mare, he was shocked, and slightly amused. The stallion truly had manners. Not only did he not attack, but he also gave respect to her. He could not read his lips, for he was with his back to the Gypsy cob, but Amoretti could, and she tugged his ear with her teeth lightly, getting him to turn his head so she could get the gist of the message to him. Oreo’s tail swished slightly as he smiled ever so slightly, nuzzling the border collie gently before turning back to the confrontation at hand.
The Gypsy Vanner stallion saw those cold, blue eyes of the master mare set in a glare and shivered. He was glad that glare wasn’t directed towards him. "Have them! Take them! Run them into the ground for all I care!" He read of her, seeing how she showed her teeth to him, and he started in surprise, eyes widening. Did she mean it? Really and truly was she giving up her claim? It seemed she had as she turned and leapt over the fencing, hovering for a moment before pausing. He wondered what for, but Amoretti tugged lightly on his mane, and he swung around, catching the word, ‘Angelina.’ Her name. How amusing. An angelic name for an anything but angelic mare. But still, he didn’t care, because she was leaving, and he was happy to see her go.

He was her friend, and she didn't want to make his life any harder then it already was with his deafness, so why not offer a little big of extra help just to show that she was alright with it, and willing to be as much of a help as his companion was. She nodded as he spoke, her gaze light and gentle, "It's good to have friends like that, that you can count on." She agreed, "I'm sure, no matter what happens, you two will be alright." She smiled as he dipped his head when she commented on his concern, his gaze on hers, as he asked for forgiveness, commenting that it was a habit. Caela shook her head softly, "There's nothing to forgive, I just don't want to see you getting hurt over something as simple as a master's words." Her words died though when the female master came over, seeing the fear in her new friend's gaze, she couldn't help but feel this was going to be bad. THough the thought barely had time to process before he, her best friend, was there. He'd moved towards her quickly, hugging her tight, her name whispered by the romantic.
She nuzzled him back, before tucking her head close to his chest, "I missed you so much, Cal. So very much." Her own words were quite, breathed against his chest, and her entire body relaxed at his words, her head tilting up to look at him, "i love you." She whispered softly, having been unable to reply to his devotion at the time, instead saying it as he walked towardher new friend Oreo, smiling at Calico's handling of her dear friend, the smile deepening at Oreo's response, her eyes shining in gratitude at the Vanner stallion, dipping her head in a shine of deep friendship and care fo rhim. Unfortunately, the surreal moment didn't last long before the original problem joined them in the pen.
Caelum frowned at the mud that splattered Calico's coat, before giggling at his look of distaste, rolling her eyes at him, giving him a cheeky grin, her eyes portraying the message 'it's just mud!' Her own lower body was slick with it, though, like always, the majority of her ivory mane and tail seemed to be avoiding the mess. How it was alway so possible for her to keep such sterling white, well white, she wasn't sure. But the moment of amusement was gone as the mare demanded her mate to leave, Calico seemed more amused by it though, commenting that he didn't want to fight, having to want to never harm a female.
She smiled at her stallions way of handling this situation, though frowning when he offered her to kick him, "Calico," She merely said his name, her town disapproving enough to show he didn't like that idea at all, of course his next words naturally had her relaxing again. She knew he'd do what ever it took to protect her as well, just as she was his to defend. She watched the stallion smile then, asking for forgiveness for his rudeness, introducing both himself, and her, smiling as he introduced himself as her mate, the words warming her body through and through.
The mare had kept quiet though, through the entire thing, and slowly she was beginning to grow worried, before the white creature finally snarled into action, her words delighting caelum to the core, She was giving up. Caelum lunged for Calico pressing up close to him in relief, her muzzle darting up to touch his own, her eyes shining bright with relief. It was over done with. She paused though as the mare turned back, hissing out her name, and Caelum stored it in the back of her mind . . . Just in case. Her gaze turned towards the vanner, seeing his eyes wide, and she smiled, tugging Calico's mane, before trotting towards Oreo, her gaze back on her stallion for just a moment, before smiling at her friend, "Calico, we can't leave Oreo here, we'll take him with us right? I'd be to worried about what kind of master would pick him up if we left him behind. Please, let's all leave together." 722 | cal, angie, ori complete not my best, but still good. <3 and poor cael. she's just all determined not to leave oreo behind, she wants him to come too <3 soo cute. |

Under different circumstances at a much later time, he would allow his demeanor to fall. The politeness would fade, the humility would shatter, and he would be laughing as he recalled this day. Maybe he'd be with Caelum, talking about the time they almost lost each other yet again. Maybe he'd be looking over his herd, thinking about how it almost didn't happen, because without Cael, he wouldn't have cared. The irony of it all was that this feminist believed he was a trickster, and she hated him for speaking out for his heart. Being different from other masters was a blessing, for he could walk past them and not feel a thing. But now, the horrible idea that he owed this mare was plastered in his mind. Because she hadn't forced his soul mate away from him, hadn't made him break his morals and ethics in order to save the only one he wanted to belong to. But because of how this mare reacted, because of the things she'd done and said, he now belonged to her as well. Great. Just what he wanted. So yes, when he looks back at this in the years to come, he will laugh. He will consider how things could have been different, but he wouldn't trade it for the world. Even if it meant owing a feminazi mare when he'd rather not owe anyone but his herd. Fantastic.
His ears flicked to catch her angry departing words, the smile on his face broadening. He wouldn't dare taunt her further; he'd done enough to her ego for now. So instead, he simply nodded in response, watching her leap the fence and strike out at the post. He felt the vibrations of the force running up his legs, shuddered at the thought of having such an enemy that would take her anger out on an inanimate object instead of her tormentor. And then she said her name; Angelina. The most ironic of all, an angel in disguise, he figured. "Thank you." He called out to her retreating form, though he doubted she'd hear his words. "I owe you." He finished, spinning to face Caelum and the unnamed stallion alongside her. He dipped into a low bow for both, green eyes shifting between the two as he rose, wondering just where he was supposed to go from here.
"I don't believe I answered you about my debt. We were interrupted before I could." He started, eyes locking onto Oreo's own with the kind of respect only equals shared. "I believe it would be right for you, and so I request it. If I must, I'll demand it, as ironic as that may be." He chuckled, his gaze flicking to Caelum with a gentle warmth before shifting back to Oreo. "So, I owe you, and I won't have it any other way. But I don't like to have outstanding debts. I'll offer you the only thing I can in a situation like this. A home. Where you wouldn't be referred to as a slave, where you'd be free to fall in love and take a mate, start a family. Live peacefully, without the threat of a master like Angelina kicking a post because she's mad at you." Okay, that was uncalled for, but the Spanish stag couldn't resist; she had made herself such an easy target for his jokes. "Of course, Caela. We'll all leave together, as long as Oreo wants to come with us. I'm not going to force him." He stated with a chuckle, watching as his silver tressed mate stepped alongside the painted Vanner. He couldn't get over her; how she would stand up for what she believed, no matter the cost. Of course, she knew that her saying he must do this for her wouldn't make him leave, but still...

Oreo smiled to see his friend smile. Unbeknownst to him she was smiling because of him, but either way, to see a smile grace her lovely features was enough for the gentle stallion. Amoretti pressed her muzzle to his neck lightly, still perched upon the massive stag’s back, watching the Caelum and Calico with wariness the kind-hearted Vanner never seemed to have. Sure, he could be afraid of someone, but once he figured they wouldn’t hurt them, his trust was set, no matter what. More than once his black and white friend had to warn him against others because of their cloying sweetness, their suggested kindness. It hurt the massive male’s heart to know that others would be so cruel. She nodded once he spoke, her gaze light and gentle. "It's good to have friends like that, that you can count on." He read, and brightened when she agreed. "I'm sure, no matter what happens, you two will be alright." The big hearted stallion’s eyes sparkled with warmth, and gratefulness, not to mention that ever present hope. He sincerely wanted the fae’s words to be true. He definitely didn’t want anything to happen to his Amoretti. Having heard the fae’s words, the dog upon his back relaxed, if only so far as to loosen her semi-glare upon the fae, turning it instead to a wary hello. Ori dipped his head, begging her forgiveness in as kind and respectful a way he could, though when he lifted his head, he saw her shake her own. "There's nothing to forgive, I just don't want to see you getting hurt over something as simple as a master's words." He smiled warmly, and shook his head in return. ”Getting hurt is little compared to you getting hurt.” The Gypsy said simply, and then stiffened as the female master came, and fear entered his form, mirrored as aggression in Amoretti’s stature. Then another master entered, this one the one that loved his friend. He relaxed upon seeing the show of affection, the fae tucking her head against his chest, her entire form relaxed. Oreo knew then that no matter what, Caelum would be safe, and therefore everything else was obsolete. Unnecessary. His eyes widened slightly in awe and respect as the stallion then approached him, with the Border Collie issuing a soft warning, but he merely responded as he believed he should, and out of the corner of his eye he saw the gratitude shining in Cael’s gaze, and she dipped her head in a show of deep friendship and care for him. The action nearly made the large softie cry. He’d never really had such shows presented to him before, and it was made all the sweeter because he knew she’d meant it. For the first time, Ori noted the mud splattering all three of their coats, and he smiled a bit to see the stallion’s distaste towards the offending sticky, wet substance. He couldn’t quite read either of the masters’ lips, but he gained enough knowledge from the way the stallion shifted to offer his side to the other mare, and the disapproving downward turn to Caelum’s lips. But then the mare left, giving one of the posts a hard kick that had the stallion shivering before watching as the mare lunged towards her mate, pressing close to him in relief before her gaze moved to his own ice blue one. He held still, tendons trembling with the effort of holding still, unused to such attention as the fae trotted towards him, and focused her gaze on him before smiling at him. "Calico, we can't leave Oreo here, we'll take him with us right? I'd be too worried about what kind of master would pick him up if we left him behind. Please, let's all leave together." She said, and he relaxed, ever so slightly, but enough that he knew that he would be in good hands from then on.
The Gypsy Vanner stallion watched Calico with interest as he nodded, watched the other fae leap the fence, striking out at the post, and the master shuddered at his thoughts. He called something after the fae, what looked suspiciously like a thanks. Thanks? Well, Oreo supposed he could understand that. After all, the male must be happy at being reunited with his love, so no doubt he was grateful to whatever events, or beings brought him to her. The stallion dipped into a low bow for the both of them, green gaze shifting between the two of them as he rose. "I don't believe I answered you about my debt. We were interrupted before I could." He said, his gaze locking directly onto Ori’s own with a respect only reserved for equals. The stallion dipped his head in a show of modesty, common for him as his ears flicked nervously. He wasn’t used to such direct attention. "I believe it would be right for you, and so I request it. If I must, I'll demand it, as ironic as that may be." He said, appearing to chuckle as his gaze flicked to his mate with gentle warmth before back to him. The massive stallion shifted uncomfortably, completely oblivious to what he should do, what he could do. "So, I owe you, and I won't have it any other way. But I don't like to have outstanding debts. I'll offer you the only thing I can in a situation like this. A home. Where you wouldn't be referred to as a slave, where you'd be free to fall in love and take a mate, start a family. Live peacefully, without the threat of a master like Angelina kicking a post because she's mad at you." Calico said, and the massive stallion couldn’t keep the small, gentle, kind smile from twisting his lips upwards ever so slightly at the joke. His ears flicked once more, and then faced forward. "Of course, Caela. We'll all leave together, as long as Oreo wants to come with us. I'm not going to force him." He said, and Ori turned to look over at Caelum, and then at Calico once more. This time, some of his fear fell away as he came close to meeting his gaze, his tail swishing in a nervous habit, but when he spoke his voice, perpetually stuttering, and slightly offtone, but it was sure. ”I would be honored, no, b-blessed to h-have a home at last. T-thank you.” He said, and then dipped his head, shifting his hooves slightly, unsure as to what came next.
